Spring soccer season is officially in full force and the girls are loving it!
Once again this year Katelin’s suggestion for the team name was picked by the other girls on her team so that made her very happy. She is one of the “Pink Flamingos”! (Last year her team name pick was “Rock Stars”.) The Pink Flamingos are 3-0 so that too makes her happy as we all know she is a little competitive. Hhmmmm…I wonder who she gets that from ;) I must say that I am truly impressed with her playing once again this year. She is one of the best hustlers on the team, is assertive, pays attention to her coaches, and is quite the cheerleader on the sidelines as well! She really enjoys playing and we couldn’t be happier to see her have so much fun.
Cheering on her team with the coaches!
Getting the ball away from the Bumble Bees!
Big Smile after her goal (one of 8 that she scored that game!)
I am also proud of Anners this season as we did not have any tears! Her program doesn’t play games but rather spends an hour learning drills, playing fun games, and the such. She looks forward to each Saturday morning now as she knows she gets to play soccer. This past week she brought treats for her teammates and was so excited to share. She counted the number of players when they were all out on the field and yelled to me, “Mom, we have EIGHT players! We have enough treats!” It was pretty cute as she was clearly excited to share with her new friends. I am really looking forward to fall soccer when she will advance to the next level and get to have weekly practices and games. It will be interesting and fun to see the difference in interactions between Katelin and Annie.
I never thought I would say this but I love being a mini-van driving soccer mom! I sure hope they continue with the sport as it is so fun to watch and they do such a great job!
