Take Me Out To The Twins Game!

Last weekend we had the great pleasure to support our neighbor and friend Nicole by participating in the MS Day @ the Twins game. It was a great time and for a great cause and as part of it we were able to join in a pre-game walk around the field during warm ups! The Twins won, the girls and mom and dad had a great time hanging out with the Erikson and Clark families, and James got some great quality time with Grandma Sharon. We're looking forward to participating in the MS walk this weekend too!

Soccer Star!

Today was a proud day in the Clemens house as Katelin had her first ever soccer game this morning! Despite the 50 dergee temp, wind, and rain, the Rock Stars took to the field for an epic 10-8 battle of cuteness! Unfortunately they lost but Katelin was Amazing today! From being a starter even though she is one of only two kids to not have played soccer before, to cheering on her teammates from the sidelines with yells of "Go Rock Stars!! Whoo hoo!", to having a great attitude about the weather, to giving her teammates hugs after they scored, to scoring 3 of the teams 8 goals, it was an incredibly fun time and we couldn't have been more proud! Congrats Kate on an awesome start to the season!

Going for the goal!

So happy!

Friday Fun

A few fun photos to share tonight...

Annie wanted curly hair so I told her we could put sponge rollers in her hair for bedtime. I remember fondly my mom doing this to my head in the evenings when I was a child. I wonder what Annie will look like in the morning and if her hair will actually hold a curl? :)

James made some adorable bunny art for us for Easter. The bunny ears are his tiny little hands. Oh...and I must report that daycare said the past two days he has been their champion eater with both his bottles and his baby food. Who would've thought we would hear that?!

And how could I resist a photo opp of James wearing these silly little bunny glasses that Katelin got. Too small for her head but a little large for Jamesy!

And...He Eats!

I don't know what happened to James today but he had a good day in regards to eating. He actually ate all of his cereal and carrots for lunch at school and tonight he ate cereal and carrots again. In fact, I couldn't get them into his mouth fast enough! We also tried his little mesh food sucker thing (not sure what it is really called!) and he loved eating a banana out of it. He sucked and sucked away! He still however was not wanting anything to do with a Cherrio! He spit that out as fast as he could! Here's hoping we continue with the good eating. Now...I would be a really happy camper if he slept through the night tonight! Go James!

Today I took James to his 6 month doctor appointment. I can hardly believe that he has been a part of our family for 6 months already! And I really can't believe that he isn't sleeping through the night yet! I like to think that he just loves spending so much time with me that he can't make it until morning to snuggle ;) While that thought is comforting, I need my sleep James!!! We will work on having him cry it out at night and pray that he doesn't wake the girls. He is now sitting up on his own too although he loves to throw himself backwards so I can't leave him unattended quite yet. This is in true James style as he is constantly moving. I have never seen such an active baby. He LOVES to jump in his exersaucer and johnny jumper.

Unlike me, he is on the petite side. He went from being in the 85% percentile in weight and 95% in height to being in 40% for weight and 50% height. I attribute this to the fact that he doesn't like to eat. He is not a fan of baby food or cereal yet. He basically acts like we are gagging him when we try to feed him. Tonight we tried a Cheerio and his reaction was hysterical! He stared at us like we were insane with the Cheerio just sitting in his mouth and then proceeded to spit it out at us while making a crumpled, disgusted face. Hopefully he learns to eat soon so he puts on some weight! No teeth yet either which is consistent with the girls and their late teeth.

I have to also share the sweet moment I caught of the girls talking in bed after we left their room tonight.

Annie: What side of the bed should I sleep on?

Kate: I don't know, either side.

Annie: OK.

Kate: We better get to sleep.

Annie: Yeah, we better get to sleep.

Kate: Night Annie

Annie: Night Kate

Kate: See you in the morning Annie

Annie: See you in the morning Kate

Kate: I love you Annie

Annie: I love you Kate

My heart is smiling tonight! :)

Pre-Easter Fun

I finally got the chance to download some pictures from this past weekend in which we had an Easter Egg Hunt/Potluck with some friends in the neighborhood. We were lucky enough to have weather that was in the mid-50's considering it was snowing hard on Friday night. There were about 18 kids and I can confidently say everyone had a great time gathering eggs, playing on the playset, doing arts and crafts and just running around like kids do! It was also nice for the adults to get a chance to socialize as well! The girls and I made sugar cookies and chocolate cupcakes for the party. Their decorating skills were much improved from Christmas cookie decorating (and by that I mean I only had to vaccum the floor once and the majority of cookies remained edible with only a moderate amount of frosting and sprinkes)! It was a fun few hours and a great way to end the weekend!

Kate and her friends spinning like crazy!

Kate ready to run and gather eggs!

Annie with a bucket full of eggs!

Kate concentrating on frosting her Easter cookies!

Annie eating more cookies than she decorated….Surprise Surprise!

Oh, and a surprise visit from the Easter Bunny’s helper!

A big day worth celebrating!

Today was an eventful (the good kind) day for us! It started with a trip to the dentist. The girls have been there 5 times already but the past three were less than exciting for Annie as she did nothing but cry (strangely, the first time she loved it!). So last night she was already in tears as she anticipated the morning's appointment. When we got to the dentist we had a few tears but she quickly turned her attitude around and jumped on the chair and became very brave! She was excited to learn she has 2o healthy teeth (and getting the new tooth brush, floss, and toy didn't hurt either)! Plus, she got her picture with the dentist and it will come to the house addressed to Annie! Kate also did fantastic and even went and got x-rays all by herself. She is though a pro at this by now since she has had successful previous trips (although the first one is when she cried!!). I also had to take James to the doc today as he has been having some digestive issues again. Unfortunately we didn't get too many answers. Good thing is it doesn't seem to be the flu but now we are not sure what to do. He is definitely my "mystery man"! He keeps me guessing all the time. Since he had to stay home with me today we enjoyed two walks. One in the Baby Bjorn and one in his stroller. He LOVES being outside!

We ended the day with a trip up to hill to visit our friends. It was the first trip of the season and the girls were ecstatic! The most exciting part is that Kate learned how to ride her bike without training wheels. Last night Brian took her outside and she mastered driving balancing in a straight line. Within 10 minutes tonight she was starting, stopping, and turning (and even going up and down hills)! Other than the accident when she ran into Annie and they both toppled to the ground, you wouldn't know she just learned tonight! Most impressive is that even though she got some bumps and bruises, she got right back up (with some tears of course though). We are very proud of her and I am fairly certain she doesn't get these skills from her mom :) Brian and I enjoyed our trip up the hill too as it allowed us some adult socializing as well!

Oh, well the actual night ended with a trip to DQ to celebrate. I am really wishing I was not still restricted to a dairy free diet :(

The iPad has landed.

Testing out ways to update the blog with photos from our home computer. Lovin the iPad but access to and transfer of files from a PC is surprisingly annoying for an Apple product. Gripe aside, remote desktop access looks to work pretty well!
