One of the mom’s in Katelin’s kindergarten class amazingly invited the entire class plus all their families to have a year-end party at their house. It was a HOT day but there was a pretty good turn-out with many of Katelin’s close friends attending. It was also a really nice time for the adults to mingle and relax a little too. I hope the parents and kids in Annie’s class are as awesome as they were in Katelin’s! On a side note, Katelin recently found out she will be in Mrs. Van Pelt’s 1st grade class. She was happy to get Mrs. Van Pelt but was extremely sad to learn that her BFFs were not in her same class.

Annie’s 5th Birthday Party
Between how busy we have been this summer and our computer going on the fritz, I have not been updating the blog as frequently as I would like. We have had a lot of exciting things taking place and one of those was Annie’s 5th birthday party in early June. She wanted to have it at IGM again this year so she got to spend 2 hours running around having crazy fun with all of her friends. I loved how you could see the glow in her face and how excited she was to be the birthday girl. She was truly in her element and having the time of her life. Below are some of my favorite pictures of the day!

Future Beckham!
James became quite the spectator during the girls spring soccer season. For the most part I can’t complain about his behavior during games. He loved to cheer on the girls and clap and yell “YAY” with the rest of the crowd. His favorite part of the games though was the end when he got to got on the field with the ball. Maybe we have another future soccer star on our hands!

Spring Soccer Ends
Wow, what a fun spring soccer season we had! Katelin’s team, the Pink Flamingos, was undefeated until the last game of the season. She had such a great time at both practices and games. She was definitely one of the top scores as well averaging around 6 goals per game! She is not one to shy away from hustling!
Annie had a great season too (although hers was really short with only 4 Saturdays to play). We were so proud of her as she did so much better than fall season. She had no tears whatsoever and was one of the best listeners on her team. She has so much control over the ball, was assertive, and my favorite part is that you could see her face glowing with pride! She can’t wait for fall soccer so she gets to have practices, play real games and wear real jerseys with numbers on the back!
Here are some pics of the spring season. We are already looking forward to the fall season (which sadly will be here before we know it!).

Schools out for Summer!
It’s hard to believe that the school year is over already! I know officially have a 1st Grader, a Kindergartener and a Busy Bee! Katelin had a great year in Mrs. Reed’s class. She learned so many new skills and made some very nice friends. We are anxiously awaiting to find out what 1st grade teacher she has next year. The end of the year brought some fun times at school including Spring Fun Day in which the entire school had a full day dedicated to games, outdoor activities, a dance and so much more! I volunteered for a short time and was able to watch Katelin have a blast with her friends!
Spring Fun Day – Crazy hair and face painting!
First Day of School – Long hair vs. short hair!
Just as we got pictures of the first day of school, we had to get some of the last day. They good new is that she actually got off the bus on the last day unlike her mysterious disappearance on the first day of school.
Annie also had her last day at Parent’s Choice for Kids. We decided to get a nanny for the summer so Annie and James will no longer see their buddies every day either. Annie is already so excited to be in Mrs. Reed’s class! James will go back in the fall though so hopefully the adjustment for him isn’t too difficult. They are excited to participate in a lot of fun activities this summer including VBS, Camp Streefland, Gymnastics camp, Soccer camp, and maybe event tennis camp. Lots of activities to keep them busy!

The influence of sisters!
One of James’ favorite things is to put on big shoes and walk around. Well, lately he has been selecting high heels over tennis shoes. In addition, he loves putting on the girls’ accessories whether it be for hair, jewelry or carrying a purse! The other night we heard his little waddle and found him having fun with accessories again.
All I can do is smile!
