James Meets Ducky

Last week I finally decided it was time for James to move up front his infant bath tub to the real tub.  I thought this was going to be very exciting for James as he loved splashing in his bath.  I didn’t quite get the reaction I was expecting when I first set him into his new ducky bath. We had quite a few tears initially for the first few days but since he has learned to love it as much as he did the last tub.  Bath time is one of my favorite times with James!

And finally a smile!!!

And He’s Off!!!

Big, big news today…James is crawling!  We figured it would happen soon as he has been up on all fours for quite some time rocking back and forth.  Tonight after his bath I was putting his clothes away and when I turned around he was crawling…straight towards the cord in the plug-in.  I guess that is a sign of what is to come!  Our little man is growing up and life will be changing for us quickly as I am pretty certain he will be into everything!!!!DSC_0005-2

My favorite is when he starts to crawl towards the cord/outlet!

Visiting our Tynan Friends!

This past weekend we took what has become an annual trip to Omaha to visit our Tynan friends!  As usual, it was a busy but fun weekend filled with lots of great memories.  The girls love going to Omaha as they get to play with Luke, Maggie and Gracie!!!  Some of the fun activities included:  mani/pedi's for the girls (minus Grace who was napping), a lemonade/Kool-Aid/gummy bear stand where the kids earned $31 in 1 hr. of sales!,  a ride in Momo’s new red slug bug convertible where they got to wave like princesses and got treated to slushies, a trip to the Bagel Bin, and two fun days of swimming at the pool which helped us all cool off from the heat!!

The adults of course had fun too!  Brian got to play a round of golf and took a trip to the driving range with Sam, I always enjoy just chatting with Bridge (feels like we are back in college!), dinner and a movie (Horrible Bosses) with the adults only, and of course we too enjoyed pool time!!  Oh and I can’t forget that Brian and I made it a “business trip” too and took care of creating our wills, trusts, powers of attorney and all that not-so-fun stuff.  All in all it was a great weekend and we already miss our friends.  We had tears before we even left their driveway.  We are looking forward to a visit from them in August hopefully!  Here are some fun pics of the weekend.

4th of July Fun

It is pretty amazing that the 4th of July was already a week ago! This summer is flying by and before we know it school will be starting.  I have been slacking quite a bit on the blog updates so I figured I bet get back to it.  This year was another 4th of July to go down in the memory books!  We had such a good time with many firsts again (seems to be a pattern this summer)! The day started with participating in the kiddie parade in downtown Wayzata.  We didn’t plan soon enough so our bike/scooter/stroller weren’t decorated in RWB but the girls and James were in in the holiday’s festive colors!  Then we met up with the Madsons and Grandma Sharon for a BBQ at a park and playground and then spent the rest of the afternoon at a man-made pond.  What a great way to stay cool on such a hot afternoon.  The girls LOVED it and James was such an amazing trooper all day!  We were gone from 9am – 6:30 and he never cried once! He was having a blast playing in the shade on the blanket and people watching! Then while Brian worked (boo) at home and James was in bed sleeping for the evening, the girls and I ventured out to the Lakeville fireworks.  I didn’t think I would end up walking 1.5 miles both ways pulling almost 90 lbs in a wagon to see the fireworks but…I did!! Kate, Annie and I met the Madsons again and just like the past two years ended the evening with popcorn and fireworks.  Needless to say we were all very pooped when we got home (at 11:30!).  The girls went right to bed and I soaked my sore feet.  What a great day we had celebrating America’s Independence!!!
