Remembering Bapsie

I am so sad to say that my grandpa, Bapsie, passed away on June 19th. He was the best grandpa a girl could ask for! He had so many wonderful qualities and loved his family so much. While I feel selfish saying that he was too young and should have lived another 10+ years, I am so grateful to have had him in my life for almost 35 years.  Many people can’t say they got that much time with a grandparent. I have so many wonderful memories of Bapsie that make me smile and I will cherish those and share them with the kids.  Now Bapsie is up in Heaven with Grandma Arlene and Uncle Dean and I know they are looking down on us and smiling. I want to share some of my favorite pictures of Bapsie.  Love you Baps!

Another Milestone!

This time it was Anner’s turn!  She came running into the house tonight all excited to get on pants she could get dirty because she was going to take her training wheels off! She did a GREAT job practicing riding all by herself on the grass and even rode on the driveway a few times as well.  I must admit that we all had a really good laugh when she rode right into a shrub in front of the house.  She came out with leaves stuck in her knee pads! I really wish I would have had the camera for that one!

Considering it took me until I was probably 7 to ride a bike, I am very impressed that after just turning 4 she is giving it a go! She was very proud of herself and seeing the excitement on her face was priceless.  I must also give props to Brian for patiently and calmly teaching our two girls how to ride a bike.  Thanks B!  Now hopefully when we upgrade her bike she will still be able to ride as she is getting a little too big for this one.

Busy Weekend!

Our first weekend in June promised to be a very eventful one! I participated in the annual Burnsville Garage Sales on Friday and Saturday.  While I hoped to get rid of more stuff, I made some decent money (despite the fact that we were scammed by a lady and her mother now official known as the “sticker swappers”!)  Don’t get me started!

Friday night we were invited up to our friends for a neighborhood BBQ.  The kids had a blast, especially Kate when she got to jump/slide in the bounce house with the sprinkler attached.  She kept screaming, “This is so much fun!”  Annie, on the other hand, was not as adventurous as it was too cold for her liking. The adults had a good time catching up as well.

Saturday we had two soccer games.  Annie got a medal for her last day of soccer and ended the season feeling very happy she played.  Kate’s team lost their game but Kate got a nice goal which made her happy. Then it was back to man the sale.  The girls also had a birthday party for their friends in the neighborhood. As I was getting Annie ready for the party, she had a little accident with the counter and her face!  Blood was gushing and tears were flowing.  Brian took her to our neighbor friends who are doctors and they said we could wait until after the party to get stiches.  Annie was a trooper!  Within 15 minutes she was bandaged up (two Barbie Band-Aids on her chin) and at the party!  The party was a success and the kids had a blast. They even got their face painted and made their own flip flops!  Brian took Anners to urgent care after the party and luckily they decided not to do stiches.  The doctor said Annie was the best patient ever!  (We actually have come to know him quite well because of all our visits to urgent care!)

Oh and I can’t forget to mention that James had a milestone this weekend too.  He started waving!!!  It is the cutest thing ever, well next to his clapping (which he started about two weeks ago).  I think he may be a southpaw.  He claps, waves, and throws a ball with his left-hand.  Maybe he takes after his Grandpa David and Bapsie!

Well, that is about it! Now this week we are trying to catch up with household chores and get ready for another busy weekend!  Here is a pic that sums up how we all felt by the end of the weekend!  Annie, asleep with her face paint and glue/Band-Aids.
