Kate's New Do

After spending the weekend in Okoboji with Maggie Tynan, Kate decided she wanted her hair short too! So, we took the plunge and chopped off all her long hair and decided to go with a classic bob. We are going to attempt to grow her bangs out too which should be interesting! She looks really cute and so much older! The same night Kate got her haircut, Annie took a fall from the chair and got an owie on her face! She insisted on holding the ice pack for about 30 minutes while she finished her fruit. Too bad that the pack was on the wrong spot! She is such a daredevil, keeping her on the ground is so difficult. Certainly does not take after her wussy Mom! :)

Mother's Day & Okoboji Trip

My friend Lori recently said she was impressed that we were posting to our blog more often...that was almost three weeks ago! We recently moved our computer that houses our photos upstairs to make it more convenient to blog so hopefully that will help us stay up to date better. Anyhow, I will post a few entries to bring you all up to speed. On Mother's Day weekend we had the wonderful opportunity to spend the weekend with our friends The Skrams and The Tynans in Okoboji, IA. You would think with 7 kids 5 and under there would have been some chaos but it was quite the opposite! Everyone had sooo much fun and they were all very well behaved! Luckily we had nice weather which allowed us to play outside during the day (and have a bonfire at night with some nice margs for the adults)! Kate thought it was pretty cool too that she could just run around outside with all the kids without always having Mom or Dad right by her. And Annie of course thoughts he could do everything all the big kids could! Lots of biking, running, and playground playing (Annie fell of the big swing three times before she realized she could not let go!). The highlight of the trip was spending Mother's Day at an indoor water park, a first for Kate and Annie. It took Annie a good 1 1/2 hours before she would smile and stop clinging to either me or Brian. When we walked in, she was backing up saying "No, No"! But once she got used to it, she was an old pro, having a great time! We definitely need to get the girls to another water park sooner than later! While it wasn't a very relaxing Mother's Day, it was such a wonderful weekend with great friends! What a pure joy to see our girls have so much fun playing with other kids. Hopefully this will turn into an annual (or even bi-annual) trip!

Look what I can do!

You might not believe it but I can pull my shorts up really high by simply raising my hand up like this! BTW - Dad must have dressed me today.

Annie...Our Free Meal Ticket!

Imagine... another story about Annie! :)

Most of you probably know that one of our fav places to eat is Chipotle. Kate and Annie are BIG fans too...in fact if you ask Kate where she wants to eat she either says Chipotle, Wendys and the ocassional Champps! We were at our weekly visit the other night when one of the employees came up to talk to us as she always does, in fact, many of the employees know us there!

She was telling us how she often thinks about us and how she enjoys seeing the girls and just loves how nice they are to her and thinks it is great they love guacamole so much. When we got up to leave she introduced Annie to the manager by saying, "These are may favorite customers! This is Annie and she LOVES guacomole!" The manager asked Annie if she loves guacamole and Annie answered with a resounding "YYYYYAAAAAHHHHH" while she threw her head back and laughed (this by the way is how she has been answering questions lately when she is excited!). Then he asked her if she liked chips too and once again..."YYYYYAAAAAHHHHH"! He then proceeded to give her a free coupon for chips and guac the next time we visit!

Go Annie! Keep the free food coming! :)
