Ahhhh...the Digital SLR

OK. So I was able to bring home a really nice digital SLR camera and speedlight (basically great clarity, depth of field, and bright soft lighting) from my office. It's a pretty sweet camera set up - I WANT ONE.....just not the couple grand it would cost to get it! There are a ton of great shots (I wish I could take the credit but it's partly because of the camera and mostly because of my adorable subjects!) - far too many too many to post here so these are just a couple of the good ones. The girls were awesome sports for me considering I was basically their personal paparazzi for a better part of the weekend!

The Next American Idol : Anners!

These clips pretty much speak for themselves but it might help if we tee them up just a little bit. The first one is of Annie and her Charlie Chaplin walk she learned somewhere.....we can't help but laugh every time she pulls this one out - hope you do too! The second is Annie singing her rendition of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star....and we think a little Row Row Row Your Boat too....you be the judge.

Edinborough Park

Dad took the girls to Edinborough Park last weekend to give Mom and her girlfriends some time to have a baby shower for her good friend Jen; who will soon be having a girl of her own! Kate and Annie LOVED their first outing to Edinborough Park though you wouldn't know it from the pics of Annie here - she clung to her ball like it was the last one on earth! This made moving from the big play room with balls, carts, basketball hoops, and a big fire dog jumper to the other main play area pretty difficult. I think every parent in there turned their head when Annie yelled...MYYYYY BALLLLLLLLLLLLL whhhaaaaaaaa!!!!!!! as I set the ball down and carried her out. The pain was short lived though when we walked into the room with the 3 story tall slide and tube maze! Lucky there was a smaller jumper for little tots where both Annie and Kate could jump! We had tons of fun on the slides and especially in the jumper until a bigger kid came crashing down into Annie and gave her a little black eye!!! Needless to say she recieved lots of TLC and got over it before we made it to the door....it took a few days for the black eye to go away though.

Grandma and Grandpa Visit!

Well, it's been a while since we updated...we're slacking!! Grandma Shirley and Grandpa Larry came to visit us for a week recently and we all had a great time. The girls stayed at home for the week and played with their grandparents all day...and saved their whining and tears for when mom and dad got home! How fun!! Does this happen to anyone else?!?! It was still a fun week though. Kate had a dance recital and we all went to Nickelodeon Universe at the MOA to take the girls on some rides and had a nice lunch at Famous Dave's. G & G got to see firsthand how Annie is our little social butterfly as she was leaning back in her chair to yell HI!!!!! HI!!!!!! to the table on the other side of the wall from us....fortunately Annie usually draws some genuine smiles even when she's practically yelling it! It was pretty funny! We'll have to try and capture this next time we eat out - should be easy since she does it everytime! Grandpa was a little camera shy so he managed to stay out of all the pics :( but he did make his presence known when he reclaimed the current high score on Night Rider pinball! Go Grandpa - he lived up to the hype! There's a clip of Kate 'dancing' below and one of Grandma, Dad, and the girls riding the Barnyard rollercoaster! Weeeeee!
