Valentine's Weekend!

The family had a wonderful Valentine's Weekend (mostly)! It started off with homemade heart-shaped pizzas on Friday night. Both Katelin and Annie had a great time decorating their own pizzas. We did have to keep them from eating the ingredients before they baked though :) Then we played a family game of hide 'n' seek that made us all laugh pretty hard, especially when I told Kate not to let Dad know where she was hiding and she yelled "OK, I won't" from behind the curtains! Then Saturday we took a trip to the Children's Museum. It really is a great way to entertain two little people for a few hours. The girls had a blast! Annie especially enjoyed playing in the water activities and Kate loved the grocery store. Then we ate lunch at an old favorite of mine and Brian's called Cleveland Wok by our St. Paul apartment. It was the girl's first time at a Chinese restaurant. Saturday night Brian and I had a romantic evening of Wii bowling and pinball! He was nice enough to show me a few bowling pointers and I am pleased to say I got eight strikes in a row! It was a fun night. The weekend took a turn for the worse though on Sun. morning when Brian woke up with the stomach flu (we think). He was pretty much down on the couch for the day. The girls and I went to Sam's Club (Kate was disappointed there weren't enough samples for her to try) and then we stopped by to visit Sam for a bit. The girls had a GREAT time playing in Sam's ball pit and going down his little roller coaster. Kate said to me last night "I have a secret Mom...I think we should probably go to Aunt Corries again tomorrow!" Needless to say she enjoyed playing with the fun toys. We hope you all had a nice Valentine's Weekend as well. I posted some pics of the weekend highlights below!

Mom's 60th Birthday!

This weekend was all about my Mom's 60th birthday! The adults celebrated with a suprise birthday dinner at Manny's Steakhouse in Mpls on Saturday night. When the hostess brough my Mom and Scott to our table she looked around with this look of "What, you expect me to eat dinner with other people!". She was not wearing her glasses (and she is blind as a bat) and was not expecting us so she had no clue it was me, Brian, my sister and her husband at the table. I don't know if that or my mom asking the waitress to bring her another glass of wine...but "not as strong as the first" was more funny! We all had a great time. The celebration continued today at our house with a birthday lunch and cake so Mom could see the grandkids. The kiddies ran around, the adults played some pinball but most of all we had a lot of laughs. Below are a few pics of the day. Happy Birthday Mom! We all love you very much!

Annie's Big Night II - The Revenge

OK, so we should have brushed up on potty training recommendations before diving into training Annie....she LOVES to sit on the potty, but she isn't quite able to understand when her body is telling her she needs to go so most of the time we just sit waiting for nothing. So we read up on the recommendations and decided we're going to wait until she's 2 or so and try again. Easy enough right? We wish! A near daily occurrence now is that Annie wants to take her pants off like when she's going to sit on the potty, which means down to her ankles and not fully off....and even better she's taking her pants down at day care too. At least she's not pulling them down in public yet! We have to give it to her though, she's pretty agile even with her pants around her ankles! (hope your neck doesn't get sore watching this! - we're not tech savvy enough to know how to rotate this.)
